Bocce Courts

The Bocce Tournaments draw heavy crowds each year at Herrinfesta Italiana. The City Of Herrin built a modern 'bocce court' to host the team-based sport at each year's festival.

In the game, players seek to place their bocce balls nearer to the target jack than their opponent or displace the opponent's bocce ball and so improve the position of their bocce ball in relation to the jack, (Pallino). Players sign their teams up each year for the Herrinfesta tournaments, and the competition (even to register!) is quite stiff.
