Driver's License / Auto License

To obtain an Illinois Auto license, application should be made on an application form available at any area bank and sent to Springfield, Illinois. The title is sent in with the application and will be returned with the plates to the owner. This should be done when Illinois driver’s license is obtained, if you are a new Illinois resident.

To obtain an Illinois Driver’s license, application should be made at the Driver’s License Examining Station located at 1905 Rendleman in Marion. It is open Tuesday through Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (618) 993-2587. The book “Rules of the Road” is available in this office. An instruction permit is issued for a period of one year and the written part of the test must be taken at the time of receiving this permit. People who move to Illinois from out of state are allowed 90 days to apply for a new driver’s license if their license from another state has not expired.
